Korean minister to visit Manila on July 18

MANILA, Philippines - The foreign minister of the Republic of Korea will be in Manila next week for a two-day official visit to strengthen bilateral ties with the Philippines. Foreign and Trade Minister Yu Myung Hwan will arrive on July 18 and will hold bilateral talks and consultations with his counterpart Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo at the Sofitel Hotel in Manila. High on their agenda are the upcoming Association of the South East Asian Nations Ministerial Meeting and the Asean Regional Forum (ARF) in Singapore, wherein Korea is a dialogue partner. The two officials will also talk about the situation in the Korean peninsula, the six-party talks on the denuclearization of North Korea and other key regional and security issues. During his visit, Yu will also lay a wreath at the Rizal Monument in Rizal Park, Manila. He is also expected to meet Senate President Manuel Villar and other Philippine officials. - GMANews.TV
