Pinoy visual artist holds exhibit in Stockholm
Filipino visual artist Tomas Concepcion held an exhibit in the artistsâ haven of Stockholm, Sweden, last July 4, the Department of Foreign Affairs disclosed. An article on the DFA website (www.dfa.gov.ph) said the exhibit, entitled âHomage to Alexander the Great," was held at the Agueli Gallery in Mariatorget. âGuests appreciated the artistâs mastery and admired his powerful message of freedom and democracy. They verbally expressed their indulgent interpretation of Mr. Concepcionâs visual works of arts including bronze sculptures, oil paintings and charcoal sketches," the DFA said. Attending the exhibit were members of the diplomatic corps in Stockholm, friends of Concepcion and of the Embassy. The exhibit was held in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Stockholm headed by Ambassador Maria Zeneida Angara Collinson. Collinson hosted an appreciation dinner in honor of Concepcion and his assistant, Carlo Brignoli, for selected guests including the owner of the art gallery, Liza Tolonen. The DFA said Concepcion has been a long-time resident of Italy and is known for his eloquent bronze sculptures and paintings in the United States as well as in Europe. He has also exhibited his works in Rome, Paris, London, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Manila. - GMANews.TV
