• Date of death: December 16, 2006

• Murdered. Bersamin and his bodyguard were gunned down on December 16, 2006 at the Mt. Carmel Church in New Manila, Quezon City. He had just attended his niece's wedding when he was shot. He died on the spot, succumbing to two gunshot wounds to the head.
• Administration ally. Bersamin is a member of KAMPI, a political party aligned with the administration party, LAKAS. Bersamin voted twice in favor of trashing the impeachment complaints filed against President Arroyo. (QS)
