March 29, 2005: The Supreme Court, convened as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), dismissed Fernando Poe, Jr.'s electoral protest against President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and denied for lack of merit Susan Roces' motion to intervene and substitute for her late husband. Poe filed a petition before the PET on July 23, 2004, asking the tribunal to annul the proclamation of Arroyo. He accused Arroyo of committing "massive and widespread electoral fraud, anomalies and irregularities" to win the polls. On December of the same year, Poe passed away after suffering a stroke.
