Armed men make off with P20K in convenience store robbery in Cebu

Two armed men robbed a convenience store in Cebu City before dawn Tuesday, taking some P20,000 in the store's earnings.

 

One of the men snuck up on the security guard and disarmed him before declaring the holdup at the store at Bacalso Avenue, GMA Cebu's Lou-Anne Mae Rondina reported.

 

"Ang isa tinabihan ako at kinuha ang baril ko, tapos huwag na raw akong pumalag kaya di na ako nanlaban," security guard Winster Ian Adlawan said.

 

Police investigator PO3 Albert Sator said the two appeared to be professionals.

 

"Para silang professional kung kumilos, plinano talaga nila to kaya di na nakagalaw ang gwardiya," he said.

 

Both suspects then posed as customers once they got inside, and then demanded money from the cashier.

 

One customer was trapped inside the convenience store while the robbery was in progress.

 

"Ang suspek ay kasing taas ko pero maliit ang katawan ang isa naman kasing tangkad ng guwardiya," said customer Clint Talete. — Joel Locsin/VC, GMA News
