Rising OFW deaths due to cardiac arrest in Qatar noted
Thirty-seven Filipinos have died in Qatar during the first six months of the year, with 26 of them succumbing to cardiac arrest, according to a report quoting an official of the Philippine Embassy in Doha. In May alone, five Filipinos have died due to cardiac arrest, Gulf Times reported in its online news edition Friday. Another five deaths were recorded in June. The extreme hot weather condition has been blamed for the rising deaths due to cardiac arrest. Currently, 75 Filipinos â 65 females, five males and five babies born out of wedlock in Qatar â are awaiting deportation in Doha. There are also two males, 23 females and three babies at the Central jail. Apart from that, there are 20 other Filipinos detained in other locations such as the Capital Police, Rayyan, Um Salal Industrial area, al-Sdd Khalifa town. - GMANews.TV
