Police nab doctor, pusher in Butuan City anti-drug operation

Police arrested two drug suspects, one of them is supposedly medical doctor, in a buy-bust operation in Butan City on Tuesday.

In a report on Unang Balita, GMA News stringer Louie Oranda cited the police identifying the suspects as Jefrix Galon alias "Jepoy" and Frederick Alegado Padilla, a medical doctor.

Acting on information of Galon's presence, city authorities launched the buy-bust operation.

Galon had long been on the wanted list of the police, the report said.

He yielded 14 sachets of suspected shabu and some drug paraphernalia, the report added.

Charges are being readied against  the two suspects for possible violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, the police said.

The two have refused to give any comments so far. — LBG, GMA News
