2 fathers suspected of raping child, daughter of partner arrested

Authorities arrested two men in alleged separate rape incidents of minors in Pasig City, according to Emil Sumangil’s “24 Oras” report on Wednesday.

The Eastern Police District (EPD) arrested the first suspect for allegedly molesting his four-year-old daughter in Barangay Pinagbuhatan last December 2020.

“Ang biktima niya rito is his biological daughter, four years old," Police Major Edgar Escreza, assistant force commander of EPD Mobile Force Battalion, said.

In Barangay Palatiw, the police nabbed another rape suspect for the alleged crime that took place in August this year.

“Sixteen-year-old daughter po nung kanyang kalive-in partner. Nabigla rin siya, akala niya hindi siya kakasuhan pero may lumabas na warrant sa kanya. Ongoing pa yung paglilive in nila nung kanyang partner,” Escreza said.

(The victim is the 16-year-old daughter of his live-in partner. He was also surprised, he thought he would not be charged but a warrant was issued against him. They are still living together.)

The suspects,  currently at the Pasig Police Detention Cell, declined to make a comment.

“Huwag po natin ipagkaubaya sa kahit kaninong tao yung ating mga anak. Magkaroon po sana ng mga regular dialogue, pulong pulong or educational materials or meetings sa mga magulang para maging aware po yung ating mga residents o ating constituents sa rape case,” Escreza said.
