American to be deported for illegal logging, many complaints in Palawan

An American national residing in Taytay, Palawan is facing deportation by the Bureau Immigration for illegal logging.

According to a 24 Oras report by Saleema Refran on Wednesday, US national Daniel Earl Ayers was nabbed on charges that include violation of the Forestry Reform Act, which is strictly implemented in Palawan.

“He was arrested in September 2022 dahil naman po sa pagkuha ng mga iligal na kahoy doon po sa Palawan. Yung mga protected species po ng mga puno, ginagamit niya po allegedly sa paggawa ng bahay,” said BI Spokesperson Dana Sandoval.

The BI said they also received reports that Ayers verbally threatened and disrespected officials and residents in Taytay.

“He has been considered po as an undesirable alien. He has been tagged po as persona non grata. During the conduct of the arrest, nagwala po itong Amerikanong ito at nagsalita po ng mga expletives laban po sa mga arresting agents,” added Sandoval.
