Police tracking KOJC events on Quiboloy’s birthday

Authorities are keeping a close eye on the activities of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) as its founder, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, celebrates his birthday on Thursday.

“May mga tracker team po tayo na nag monitor sa mga identified areas ni Pastor Quiboloy,” Davao City Police Office spokesperson Police Captain Hazel Tuazon told GMA News Online.

Tuazon said this effort aims to help locate the KOJC leader.

A Davao court has issued a warrant of arrest against Quiboloy and five others over charges of child abuse. An arrest warrant was also issued by a Pasig court for Quiboloy for human trafficking charges.

The Senate has also issued an arrest order against Quiboloy for "unduly refusing to appear, despite due notices," at hearings on his alleged involvement in the sexual abuse of his members and human trafficking issues.

In the United States, Central District of California Judge Terry Hatter Jr. on March 7 ordered the unsealing of the arrest warrants against Quiboloy and his co-accused.

Earlier, the Philippine Embassy in the United States said it has yet to receive an official request for the extradition of Quiboloy, who is declared wanted by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

The Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader has denied the accusations against him.

Meanwhile, the PNP on Wednesday said that a decision on the recommendation to revoke Quiboloy's gun permits will be issued this week. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
