2 minors rescued after allegedly jumping into a creek in Quezon City

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) confirmed on Saturday the rescue of the two minors, one male and one female, who allegedly jumped into a creek near Bernardo Park, Barangay Pinagkaisahan, Quezon City on Friday, October 2.

The QCPD said the rescue operation was carried out by personnel of Kamuning Police Station (PS10) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

“Upon receiving the report from the Office of Barangay Pinagkaisahan, PS 10 personnel immediately proceeded to the area and coordinated with the BFP for the rescue operation,” the QCPD said in a statement.

The rescued individuals were brought to East Avenue Medical Center for medical evaluation and treatment. Both were discharged on the same day—the female at 5:40 p.m. and the male at 6:12 p.m.

“The minors, who are schoolmates, were subsequently turned over to their respective guardians,” the police added.

Authorities' investigation into the incident is underway, along with coordination with other concerned agencies and the minors’ guardians to ensure their safety and welfare and to provide them with appropriate support. —VAL, GMA News
