NCRPO on full alert for Undas 2026, no untoward incidents so far
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is now on full alert in preparation for the observance of Undas 2026 or All Saints’ Day and All Souls' Day.
In an interview on Super Radyo dzBB on Saturday, NCRPO spokesperson Police Lieutenant Colonel Hazel Asilo said the Metro Manila police shifted to full alert status at 12:01 a.m. on October 30.
The full alert status may be downgraded on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, “depende sa ating magiging assessment (depending on our assessment).”
“As of 6:00 a.m., ang naka-deploy na natin ay nasa 12,848 (personnel). 'Yung nasa 1,000 (personnel), ide-deploy natin sa mga susunod na oras,” Asilo said.
(As of 6:00 a.m., about 12,848 personnel have been deployed. Another 1,000 personnel will be deployed in the next couple of hours.)
The NCRPO spokesperson said there will be a number of personnel to be deployed in each cemetery and terminal in Metro Manila.
“Ikino-consider nating hotspots ang mga sementeryo at mga terminal dahil 'yun ang mga lugar na dinadagsa ng ating mga kababayan,” she said.
(We are considering cemeteries and terminals as hotspots because these are the places where many of our countrymen go.)
Asilo said there are no untoward incidents being monitored so far in cemeteries and terminals, apart from those being caught carrying forbidden items.
The NCRPO spokesperson said that of the total number of personnel deployed for Undas, 3,600 personnel are roaming around various communities and barangays to perform anti-criminality operations.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) earlier said over 111,000 police officers will be deployed during Undas, more than doubling the manpower compared to last year.
Many Filipinos are expected to go to their hometowns for the Undas break to pay their respects to their departed loved ones.
All Saints' Day will fall on Sunday, November 1, while All Souls' Day will be on Monday, November 2. Both are special non-working days. —KG, GMA News
