MMDA: No suspension of number coding amid rain

Despite the inclement weather in Metro Manila, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority is not suspending the number coding scheme for the day.

 

In a post on its Twitter account Friday afternoon, the MMDA said the number coding scheme was still in effect.

 

"ADVISORY: Number Coding is NOT lifted today, December 9, 2011," it said.

 

Under the number coding scheme, vehicles are banned from major thoroughfares depending on the last digit on their license plates from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

 

On Fridays, the number coding scheme covers vehicles with plate numbers ending in 9 and 0.

 

Several netizens had inquired whether the number coding was lifted due to the rainy weather.
