Cops probe death of actor Tyron Perez in Valenzuela City

Police continue to investigate the death of young actor Tyron Perez, whose body was found inside a car parked in Valenzuela City Thursday night.

Investigators are still not discounting foul play in the incident even as circumstances initially point to a suicide, radio dzBB reported early Friday.

The young actor's body was found inside a Toyota Altis sedan along La Mesa Service Road in Ugong village. Found inside the car were a handgun and a shell.

Police said a friend of the actor, Alvin Salazar, claimed Perez had mentioned suicide shortly before Thursday night's incident.

Also, the report said Perez had no known enemies.

A separate report on the late-night newscast "Saksi" said Perez had been staying at the house of Salazar.

It quoted Salazar as saying Perez had mentioned to Salazar's wife he may commit suicide.

The report also quoted Salazar as saying they noticed nothing unusual about Perez in the last few days, adding Perez was a quiet and kind person.

"May nakita ang SOCO team na parang may gunshot wound sa right temple, lone gunshot wound sa right temple," police Inspector Arthur Quiñones said.
Perez, 26, is from Tarlac and joined GMA’s talent search show "Starstruck" in 2003. He later transferred to another TV network.
The young actor was in the cast of the 2006 movie Twilight Dancers. –KG, GMA News
