LRTA: LRT closed for Holy Week maintenance April 5-8

The Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 will be closed from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday, April 5 to 8, for its annual maintenance work.

 

On Tuesday, LRT Administration spokesman Hernando Cabrera said they expect "heavy" work for the LRT-1 and 2 this coming Holy Week.

 

"April 5-8 sarado ang LRT 1 and 2 para sa annual Holy Week heavy maintenance activities," Cabrera said on his Twitter account.

 

The LRT-1 connects Baclaran in southern Metro Manila to Roosevelt in Quezon City, while the LRT-2 connects C.M. Recto in Manila to Santolan in Marikina City.

 

Normal operations of the LRT-1 and 2 are expected to resume on Monday, April 9. Both lines start regular weekday operations at 5 a.m.

 

In past months, the LRT-1 had been the subject of complaints from passengers due to its glitches, many of which involve doors not closing properly or brief power outages. — RSJ, GMA News
