Heavy rain fell on parts of Metro Manila Monday morning, with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority noting traffic jams and floods along parts of major thoroughfares.
The MMDA, in posts on its Twitter account, said gutter-deep floods hit parts of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA).
It said the southbound part of EDSA approaching the Magallanes flyover was flooded.
Similarly flooded were the north- and southbound parts of EDSA near the corner of Zamora (Taft) in Pasay City.
A separate report on dzBB radio said the MMDA also noted flash floods in parts of Makati City, but added they have since subsided.
Traffic jams were also reported from Magallanes to Tramo in southern Metro Manila, dzBB added.
For its part, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said rain had fallen on several parts of Metro Manila, including Pasay and Taguig Cities; Malate in Manila; and Makati, Parañaque, Las Piñas and Muntinlupa Cities.
PAGASA earlier noted a low-pressure area off Bicol may bring rain showers and thunderstorms to parts of Luzon.
PAGASA forecasters are also tracking a potential cyclone that they said may enter Philippine territory on the first week of June. –KG, GMA News
