Six people were reported hurt even as traffic at the Epifanio delos Santos Avenue Ortigas flyover was forced to a standstill after a passenger bus figured in a freak accident Wednesday afternoon.

The six were riding a Don Mariano bus that went out of control and crashed at the southbound part of the flyover, radio dzBB reported.

MMDA traffic discipline unit head Yves Gonzalez said the service roads at the southbound part of EDSA Ortigas were temporarily closed due to the Don Mariano bus.

"It’s gonna take a while to remove this bus because the tires are over the railing," Gonzalez said on his Twitter account.

A photo of the bus tweeted by Gonzalez showed it took up a lane of the flyover.

Gonzalez also posted another photo showing the bus' front axle was already over the flyover's ledge.

Gonzalez said a boom truck and forklift had been dispatched to the area to remove the bus. — RSJ, GMA News
