Flaming car disrupts traffic at Shaw underpass

Traffic along the northbound side of the EDSA-Shaw Underpass in Mandaluyong City was disrupted as a van caught fire along it Thursday night.

 

"(The) burning car at EDSA Shaw tunnel northbound is a Kia Van with diplomatic plates. We are coordinating with Central Fire on the matter," said Metropolitan Manila Development Authority traffic discipline unit head Yves Gonzalez on his Twitter account.

 

No one was initially reported injured in the incident, he said in a later tweet.

 

A photo retweeted by the MMDA showed the front of the vehicle in flames.

 

Gonzalez later said the fire was put out at 8:10 p.m., but warned traffic may not immediately ease as the fire-gutted vehicle still had to be cleared from the area. — DVM, GMA News
