At least one person was hurt while 60 houses were razed in a fire that hit a residential area in Malabon City before dawn Saturday.

The fire started at M.H. del Pilar Street in Tugatog village at about 1:51 a.m. and was placed under control at 3:45 a.m., radio dzBB reported.

Local officials initially identified the injured resident as Edgar Tan, who suffered burns in the body.

Tan awoke to find his body already in flames, the report said.

Initial investigation showed the fire reached the fourth alarm before it was placed under control.
