A 17-year-old boy was shot dead in Manila's Tondo district before dawn Monday, even as police looked into a gang war as a possible motive. The fatality, initially identified as RJ Javier, was shot in the head and was declared dead on arrival at the Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center at Delpan Street, radio dzBB's Rodil Vega reported. Doctors said that, based on the bullet, the assailant used a cal-.45 pistol. Initial investigation showed the victim was hanging out near the Temporary Housing Area at Road 10 when a man approached him and shot him in the head. The assailant fled toward a dark alley, the report added. Police said they are not discounting the possibility of a gang war as the motive behind the killing. — DVM, GMA News
