1 dead, 3 hurt as bus hits truck in Makati

At least one was killed while three other people were injured after a passenger bus hit a parked 10-wheeler truck in Makati City before dawn Sunday. Police are tracking down the bus driver who fled from the scene after the accident near the corner of Osmeña Highway and Arnaiz Avenue, radio dzBB's Manny Vargas reported. Killed in the incident was the conductor of the JAC Liner bus initially identified as Ricky Monton. He was rushed to the Makati Medical Center but it was too late for doctors to save him. Two helpers of the parked 10-wheeler truck and one passenger of the bus were rushed to the Ospital ng Makati for treatment. An initial investigation showed the incident occurred at about 1 a.m. while the bus was cruising on the northbound lane of Osmeña Highway. The bus hit the 10-wheeler truck, which was parked at the side of the road due to a flat tire. Bus driver Policarpio Ilagan is now being tracked down after he fled the scene. He faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and multiple physical injury. — LBG, GMA News
