Two children die in Manila fire

At least two children died in a fire that hit a residential area in Manila's Sampaloc district Thursday noon. The children, aged 3 and 4, were trapped inside their two-story house along Blumentritt Extension in Sampaloc, radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo reported. "Parang na-trap sila, two-story residential structure [ang nasunog]," said one of the arson investigators. Investigators are also still looking into how the fire started. An initial investigation showed the fire started after 11 a.m. and reached the third alarm before it was confined and placed under control at 11:57 a.m. The fire was put out at 11:59 a.m., according to a tweet by volunteer firefighter group TXTFire. — LBG, GMA News
