A six-year-old boy who fell into a creek in Quezon City amid heavy rain and floods Tuesday afternoon was found dead Wednesday morning.

Rescue teams found the remains of Ariceo Neprio at the Tullahan River before noon Wednesday, radio dzBB's Divine Caraecle reported.

Neprio and some of his friends had played near the San Paulo creek in the Novaliches area amid a downpour Tuesday afternoon when he fell into the creek.

Coast Guard frogmen had been in the area since Tuesday night but could not locate him because it was already dark and the water was murkey.

Local residents appealed to city authorities to place a barrier near the creek, saying many people had fallen into the creek when it overflowed.  — ELR, GMA News
