Armed Forces of the Philippines chief of staff Gen. Emmanuel Bautista on Saturday led a bike tour of the EDSA Bayanihan Peace Mural around AFP headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.

The activity was part of the inauguration of the Philippine peace mural, which is also an attempt to set a world record.

"The peace mural covers 4.8 km of the camp's wall and was (started) last May 26 and participated in by different volunteers," the AFP said on its Facebook page.

Last May 26, the Philippines started its bid to set a world record with the longest peace mural along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA).

More than 1,000 participants helped in the attempt to make the mural, which sought to beat the present record of 1 km in Chile.

Last May, AFP spokesman Brig. Gen. Domingo Tutaan Jr. said this is also a message to armed rebels, including the New People's Army, that Filipinos want peace.

"Hey let's stop fighting, we're all Filipinos," he said in an interview on dzBB radio.  VVP, GMA News
