At least seven people injured in blast at San Juan restaurant
At least seven people were reported injured in an explosion at a restaurant in San Juan City shortly after midnight on Friday.
Police bomb experts arrived at the vicinity of the Mañosa Restaurant along Wilson Street to gather leads, radio dzBB's Paulo Santos reported.
Eastern Police District head Chief Superintendent Miguel Laurel said the injured included a three-year-old child, a taxi driver, and a security guard.
At least 10 vehicles in the area were damaged.
Laurel said they are not discounting the possibility the blast was caused by a liquefied petroleum gas tank.
The explosion caused tension among several residents in the area, which is a residential-commercial district.
Authorities temporarily closed off the street to traffic.
Interior secretary Manuel Roxas II went to the area to get a briefing from police. He said it is too early to speculate on what caused the explosion. - VVP, GMA News
