LRT cable catches fire, probe on

A power cable of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 caught fire shortly before midnight Wednesday. An investigation is underway.

The fire between the LRT's United Nations Avenue and Pedro Gil stations lasted 10 minutes, radio dzBB reported early Thursday.

No one was initially reported injured in the fire. The LRT Line 1's operating schedule is between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.

The LRT links Roosevelt Avenue in Quezon City to Baclaran in southern Metro Manila. — ELR, GMA News
