16 hurt as jeepney rear-ends bus along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City

At least 16 people were reported injured after a jeep and a bus figured in a collision along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City Thursday evening.

 

The accident occurred at the Tandang Sora portion of Commonwealth Avenue, according to a report by radio dzBB's Roland Bola.

 

Investigators are verifying information indicating the jeepney slammed into the bus' rear side after its brakes purportedly failed.

 

Photos posted by dzBB's Bola on Twitter showed the front of the jeep wedged into the rear of the bus.

An updated dzBB report said the injured included 15 passengers and the driver of the jeep.

 

A separate tweet by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority indicated the accident at Tandang Sora-Robinson eastbound caused heavy traffic in the area. — ELR, GMA News
