After arresting ‘mad killing’ suspects, QC cops fine-tune mobile patrols
After arresting at least six suspects in the "mad" killing of five people in Quezon City last Sunday, police in Quezon City are taking steps to prevent a repeat of such crimes.
Quezon City Police District head Chief Superintendent Richard Albano said Wednesday they will also coordinate with barangay chairmen to be more active against suspicious-looking people.
"Magre-reassess tayo ng mobile patrol. Nakikipagusap tayo sa barangay chairman," Albano said in an interview on dzBB radio, when asked what adjustments the police will make to prevent a repeat of the killings.
On Tuesday evening, police took into custody at least six men who had been linked to the so-called stray killings along Commonwealth and Regalado Avenues.
Albano also said they are looking into other crimes the suspects may have been involved in, including drug-related ones.
But he also noted one of those taken into custody is a minor.
For now, he said follow-up operations are ongoing against other companions of the suspects.
Meanwhile, police have recovered what they said could be the motorcycle used in the killings. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
