The Taguig City prosecutor's office has dismissed the rape complaint model-stylist Deniece Cornejo filed against movie actor and TV personality Vhong Navarro, a report on GMA News' "24 Oras" said on Friday.

The report was attributed to Navarro's lawyer Alma Mallonga.

According to report, the prosecutor ruled that if it were true that Navarro raped Cornejo on Jan. 17, she wouldn't have invited him to her condominium unit on Jan. 22.

GMA News is still trying to get a reaction from the camp of Cornejo as of posting time.

In previous statements, Cornejo said nothing happened between her and Navarro during their first meeting, but retracted these statements in her complaint.

"I initially did not say anything about the rape on the 17th because I was very ashamed about it. I did not want everyone to know that Kuya Vhong had entered me and had forced himself upon me," Cornejo said.

Cornejo filed the second rape complaint against Navarro several weeks after the Department of Justice (DOJ) on April 10 junked her first rape complaint against the actor also for lack of probable cause.

In her first rape complaint, Cornejo claimed that Navarro raped her on January 22, the date the actor was mauled by the group of businessman Cedric Lee, resulting to the actor's hospitalization for multiple injuries.

Lee claimed that they mauled Navarro after they caught them trying to rape Cornejo.

Navarro denied the allegation, and, through the Department of Justice (DOJ), filed serious illegal detention and grave coercion charges against Cornejo, Lee and five others in connection with the mauling incident.

Cornejo is currently detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame while Lee is detained at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) detention facility in Manila. —Elizabeth Marcelo/NB, GMA News
