"I did it all by myself."

A suspect in the killing of the mother of actress Cherry Pie Picache has taken back his earlier statement that he had accomplices in committing the crime.

In a sworn statement he executed on October 9 at the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in Quezon City, suspect Michael Flores said he was acting alone when he robbed and killed 75-year-old Zenaida Sison in September.

"Wala po (akong kasama). Ako lang po mag-isa ang gumawa ng lahat," said Flores, who had been employed by the victim as a house cleaner for six months.

Flores' affidavit was attached to the criminal complaint filed by the government during inquest proceedings at the Department of Justice on Thursday. Picache, clad in white and wearing sunglasses, was present.

Flores, wearing a blue shirt, was charged with robbery with homicide and qualified tresspass to dwelling.

He said he used a kitchen knife and a piece of wood from the door to kill Picache's mother.

Flores also admitted to stealing a cellular phone, money, and pieces of jewelry from Sison's residence.

"Nagastos ko na yung ibang pera na nakuha ko at naibenta ko na 'yung ibang alahas," he added in his sworn statement.

Flores admitted being under the influence of illegal drugs on the day he committed the crime.

He also recounted how he managed to break into Sison's residence.

The suspect had been in hiding in Laguna since Picache' s 75-year-old mother was found stabbed to death inside her house in Quezon City last September 19.

The National Bureau of Investigation started an investigation into the killing last September 24.

Picache met with NBI agents Tuesday. She and other family members were shown the various pieces of evidence collected. These included closed-circuit television footage of primary suspect Flores.

Investigators had also recovered a pair of shorts and a shirt believed worn by Flores at the time of the murder. —NB, GMA News
