MMDA to start Oplan Kaluluwa on Oct. 27

(Updated 7:56 a.m.) The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will start on Monday, Oct. 27, its program to assist Filipinos heading for the provinces to pay respects to their dearly departed.
Dubbed Oplan Kaluluwa, the program will involve traffic management in areas near major cemeteries in the metropolis, radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported.
Also, the MMDA is coordinating with local government units to ensure smooth traffic between Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
The MMDA will likewise set up assistance booths at bus terminals to assist province-bound passengers, the dzBB report added.

Filipinos are expected to flock to the provinces starting next week for the yearly Undas (All Saints' and All Souls' Days).
Meanwhile, in Manila, management of the North Cemetery started cleaning up the premises in anticipation of Filipinos observing Undas.
But the cemetery management said that while people have started arriving to clean the tombs of their dearly departed, they will have until Oct. 29 to do so.
Starting Oct. 30, the cemetery will tighten security in anticipation of the bulk of people arriving to pay respects to their departed loved ones. —Joel Locsin/KG, GMA News
