5 hurt in van-bus accident in Caloocan City

At least five people were reported injured in a freak accident involving a van and a passenger bus in Caloocan City early Monday.
The bus crashed into a funeral parlor along MacArthur Highway after its driver tried to avoid hitting the van, radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported.
Photos tweeted by dzBB's Gatus showed both vehicles sustained damage following the accident.

A separate photo posted by GMA News' Victoria Tulad showed the bus hitting the plant box of the funeral parlor.

The accident occurred before 7 a.m. at MacArthur Highway in Caloocan City, Gatus reported.
Police are verifying witnesses' claims the bus was speeding at the time of the accident.
Initial investigation showed the Starex-type van crossed the center island, prompting the bus driver to swerve to avoid a collision.
