Teen mugged, raped by taxi driver and accomplice

A 16-year-old college student was allegedly raped and mugged by a taxi driver and his accomplice in Las Piñas City.



According to a report on "24 Oras" on Friday, Manila Police District officers said the girl hailed a cab at BGC to take her home to Manila at 2 a.m. on Saturday.

 

She sat in the passenger's side of the car, where she was grabbed by a man hiding in the backseat who immediately declared a robbery.

 

The girl was then tied and stuffed into the truck of the cab, before being taken to a motel in Las Piñas City, where she was allegedly raped and robbed of P6,000.

 

She was taken home after 10 hours, but was unable to report the incident immediately due to trauma.

 

"Sinabi, papatayin siya pagka nagsumbong," said a Manila Police District officer.

 

Miguel Maranan, one of the suspects, admitted to Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada that he used drugs.

 

He and his partner, who has yet to be arrested, will be charged with kidnapping, robbery, and rape. — Rie Takumi/JDS, GMA News
