The Sto. Niño Parochial School's valedictorian on Tuesday said that she was disappointed and upset with salutatorian Krisel Mallari because Mallari's graduation speech cast doubt on her achievement.

The valedictorian spoke with GMA 7 new program “24 Oras”, and said that she and Krisel were friends, and that she knew Krisel to be very competitive.

“Sana, Krisel, you learn to accept, na, if hindi naman para sa iyo, huwag mo sana sirain yung reputation ng school. Kasi maraming nasasaktan,” said the valedictorian.

Mallari had justified her speech, explaining that she questioned the accuracy with which their grades were computed, and that the Sto. Niño Parochial School had refused to show her the valedictorian's grades.

The school, meanwhile, insisted that the grades were arrived at honestly and that Mallari's father had seen how Krisel's grades were computed. Krisel, however, denied that this had happened.

The school also said that they could not reveal the valedictorian's grades without the valedictorian's consent.

What the valedictorian consented to was to have their grades re-computed to clarify the matter.

— DVM, GMA News
