(Updated 3:17 p.m.) A pregnant foreigner was hit by an SUV inside Bonifacio Global City on Tuesday.

In its post on Tuesday, Top Gear Philippines quoted photographer Scott Gutsy Tuason as saying a black Toyota Fortuner, with plate number AAL-6646, hit a female foreigner while "speeding around the corner of 30th Street and 2nd Avenue" in BGC.

"It hit another car and ran over a pedestrian on the crosswalk at 11:30 a.m. today," Tuason wrote in his post.

In a comment, photographer Jun de Leon said the lady was pregnant and was brought to the ICU of St. Luke's Medical Center.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority confirmed the incident to GMA News Online on Wednesday, but could not provide information on the victim as the area was not in its jurisdiction.

An MMDA representative said the woman was no longer at the site of the accident when their officers arrived to tow the SUV. She added that initial report said the car collided with a taxi, but officers were later told it hit a truck.

GMA News Online also reached out to the BGC Marshall Unit, which said it could not provide information as of posting time.

'Loud crash'

In a phone interview with GMA News Online, Tuason said that while he did not see the collision itself, he ran outside after hearing a "really loud" crash.

He said that according to eyewitnesses, the black car ran into another SUV while making a left trun to 2nd Avenue.

It then "rolled over and hit the pedestrian on the other side of the street who was crossing, a pregnant woman," he added.

He said he has gathered information that the woman suffered a broken collarbone and other fractures.

"I heard that she's conscious, but in the ICU," Tuason added.

"That vehicle did not run over the person per se, but the mere fact that it was speeding there was [something] wrong," he said, adding that he has encountered similar drivers when using that cross road for the past three years. —KG/RSJ/KBK, GMA News
