3 nabbed for sneaking in illegal drugs at New Bilibid Prison

Three female visitors at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City were arrested for trying to sneak in illegal drugs into the prison compound early Friday morning. 

 

Prison Superintendent Richard Shwarzkopf identified those arrested as Chona Mantilla, Ligaya Reyes and Melissa Angue who were supposed to visit their husbands and partner incarcerated inside the NBP. 

 

An initial investigation revealed two sachets of suspected shabu were found inside the shoulder bag of Mantilla when she was subjected to body search at the entrance of the Inmate Visitation Services Unit around 7 a.m.

Refusing to take full responsibility, Mantilla tagged Reyes and Angue as the ones who connived to smuggle drugs into the NBP. 

 

Prison guards apprehended the three, and were turned over to the police for further investigation. They refused to answer questions from GMA News. 
 

 

Shwarzkopf said visitation rights of the relatives of the suspects will be suspended as a consequence of the apprehension.
