Ka Angel, Ka Tenny accuse QC cops of harassment

The supporters of the expelled Iglesia ni Cristo members Angel Manalo and Tenny Manalo have accused the Quezon City Police District of harassment.

A report on GMA News TV's Quick Response Team said Angel's supporters went outside the house at around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday and told reporters that a police mobile blocked their gate, the spot where other supporters tried to organize a vigil last week.

"Wala silang karapatan na ipagtabuyan ang aming mga kapatid. Hindi naman sila gagawa ng gulo, eh. Iyong mga sasakyan, bakit po nakahambalang po diyan? Eh private property po ito. Ayaw daw sila pababain dito. Ayaw daw sila papuntahin dito. Pinagtatabuyan po, " a Ka Rosal told the press.

QCPD director Chief Supt. Joel Pagdilao has denied the accusations and explained that the mobile was deployed in the Manalo compound for the safety of Angel and Tenny and their company inside the house.

Special investigators of the Commission on Human Rights also rushed to the Manalo compound with a "mission order." They said that they received a call, saying food and water supplies delivered to their home were blocked at the gate.

"May nagrereklamo sa amin, tumawag sa opisina na hindi pinapasok iyong pagkain sa loob," CHR special investigator Policronio Nalangan Jr. said in a report on GMA News TV's State of the Nation with Jessica Soho.

But the gate remained close to the CHR.

However, during GMA News' stake out in the compound, all of the food deliveries were not blocked by any group.

Meanwhile, a driver of a black vehicle, who refused to be identified and shown on camera, handed out a press release from the supporters of Angel and Tenny to GMA News.

The press release stated that the religious group's late executive minister Erdy Manalo had previously warned them of corruption within the church.

"Ito ngayon ang tinatamasa ng Sanggunian o Administrasyon ni Ka Eddie Boy, puro pakikinabang sa sarili, walang matinong manggagawa na sinasabi ni Ka Erdy... Ito iyong katiwaliang binabanggit ni Ka Erdy noon pa man na sa panahon na lang ngayon lumilitaw," the statement said.

On Monday, Angel named general auditor Glicerio Santos Jr. and general secretary Radel Cortez among those involved in corruption within the ruling council. — Trisha Macas/NB/DVM, GMA News
