At least 13,000 customers of Maynilad Water Services Inc. will be affected by pipeline repairs in Caloocan City after a backhoe for the Skyway Stage 3 construction project damaged one of the primary water lines on A. Bonifacio Avenue on Wednesday.

A damaged pipeline of Maynilad at the corner of A. Bonifacio and 7th Streets in Quezon City spews water after being hit by a backhoe on Wednesday, August 12. The backhoe was digging a test pit as part of the ongoing Skyway Stage 3 project. Chino Gaston

A report from GMA's “Balitanghali” on Thursday said the water service interruption will run from 10 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday and will mostly affect barangays along 7th Avenue in Caloocan City.

But Maynilad later Thursday changed this schedule to 10 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.

“Maynilad’s technical team has to extend excavation work to about 1.5 meters to repair the damaged pipe. We are already informing our affected customers about the new schedule of water service interruption through local dissemination,” Maynilad said in an emailed statement.
Meanwhile, an earlier report said Maynilad has announced that there will be no more water service interruptions for Thursday and next week due to their pipeline realignment project.
