Iglesia ni Cristo members leave Padre Faura, group gathers on EDSA-Shaw


(Updated 10:15 p.m.) Members of the Iglesia ni Cristo left Padre Faura Street in front of the Department of Justice compound on Friday night and have started marching on Quirino Avenue Extension, radio dzBB has reported.


Radio dzBB's tweets indicated that the protesters from the Padre Faura rally marched through the Sta. Mesa area and at past 10 p.m. was already on at the Gomezville area on Shaw Boulevard.



The crowd that held a rally and vigil for two nights left after it was addressed by the Iglesia ni Cristo spokesman who called on the government to respect the doctrines of the religious group.

Meanwhile, the group that gathered in front of the Megamall on EDSA already marched to the corner of the major highway and Shaw Boulevard.



An advisory from the Metro Manila Development Authority has it that 1,000 participants in the group's rally on EDSA Ortigas caused moderate to heavy traffic in the northbound section around 7:00 p.m.
