EDSA traffic still heavy near rally sites of Iglesia Ni Cristo early Saturday morning

(UPDATED 4:13 a.m.) Traffic along EDSA near the protest rally sites of the Iglesia Ni Cristo is "moderate to heavy", GMA News' radio dzBB said early Saturday morning.

According to the Eastern Police District, the crowd at Shaw Boulevard was estimated at 2,500 at around 2 a.m.

Reporting from the intersection of EDSA and Shaw Boulevard, dzBB reporter Divine Reyes gave this update on the traffic there:

The MMDA said traffic along the Ortigas to Shaw section of EDSA is passable, but they did not indicate how heavy the traffic volume is.

There is a program ongoing at a stage or platform set up at the EDSA-Shaw intersection.

Apparently, the protesters at Shaw or some of them at least, came from the EDSA-Ortigas intersection.

Earlier, the Iglesia Ni Cristo said their mass action on EDSA could run until Monday.

YouScooper Raymond Gomez said in a tweet to GMA News that the Iglesia Ni Cristo protesters are spending the night on sidewalks and other resting places they could find along EDSA.
