Maynilad updates list of barangays that will be affected by water interruptions
Maynilad Water Services Inc. on Thursday updated its list of barangays that are expected to be affected by a 12-hour rotating water service interruption due to the El Niño phenomenon.
As of September 1, the water level at Angat Dam was at 186.24 m, 13% below the year-end target level of 212 m.
This level isn't enough to sustain irrigation needs and power production, forcing the National Water Resources Board (NWRB) to prioritize providing water for households.
For the month of September, the NWRB has imposed a water allocation of 38 cubic meters per second per household. In July and August, the water allocation was 41 cubic meters per second.
The final schedule of water service disruption has yet to be released and will depend on the level of water reserve and amount of rain in the following days.
Below is the complete list of affected areas in the cities of Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon, Manila, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, Quezon, and Valenzuela as well as Cavite City, Imus City, Noveleta, and Rosario in Cavite:
