Beep cards available at MRT-3 stations soon

(Updated 11:32 a.m., September 21) Beep cards will also be available at the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) soon.

 

This, after the complete transition to the "tap and go system" of the Light Trail Transit Line 1.

 

The AF Payments and Light Rail Manila Corp. had announced that the northbound direction of the LRT 1 will start implementing the new Automated Fare Collection System starting Sunday.

 

The AF Payments said that the LRT 1 have already stopped selling and using paper coupons in all LRT 1 sttaions.

 

All stations in LRT's Line 2 have been using beep cards since August 5.

 

The AF Payments said that it expects to "launch beep in MRT 3 over the coming weeks."

 

The beep card, a contactless payment solution, was pilot tested at LRT Line 2 stations late in July. —Bianca Rose Dabu/LBG/ALG, GMA News
