50 families rendered homeless in Valenzuela fire
At least 50 families were rendered homeless after a fire hit Gumamela Street in Barangay Marulas, Valenzuela City on Monday morning.
One person was reported injured with burns on her nape and on the soles of her feet.
Firefighters had difficulty in putting out the fire because of the narrow streets in the area.
Fire Superintendent Jonas Silvano, the fire marshall of Valenzuela City, said there was a report of an illegal use of jumper in the community but it has yet to be verified.
The fire, which started at past 10 a.m., was declared under control by past 11 a.m. The fire was declared out by 2 p.m.
The affected families will temporarily stay at the Tañada covered court in Marulas. The local government has promised assistance so that those affected could rebuild their houses. —NB/KG, GMA News
