QC store robbery caught on CCTV
Some three armed suspects were caught on security footage robbing a small store in Barangay San Bartolome, Novaliches, Quezon City on Monday, GMA 7 news program “24 Oras” reported.
According to a witness, the robbery took place at 8:15 p.m., and around P15,000 was stolen from the store cash register.
The suspects then boarded a nearby taxi with plate UVY 240, where their two lookouts were waiting.
The victims immediately reported the robbery to the barangay which sent in some of several tanods.
The barangay security men were able to catch up to the taxi, which was caught in traffic. But they were unable to apprehend the suspects, who had guns.
San Bartolome's barangay captain said they needed more police visibility in the area to deter these kinds of incidents.
Quezon City Station 4 Community Relation Chief Sr. Insp. Marlo Barruga admitted that they only had 150 police officers at the station, which was not enough. — Andrei Medina/DVM, GMA News
