2 van passengers killed in Marcos Highway crash

Some two passengers were killed, with 12 others injured, after a trailer truck crashed into a passenger van on the Marcos Highway in Marikina Sunday afternoon, GMA 7 news program “24 Oras Weekend” reported.



According to investigators, the van was trying to avoid another vehicle when the truck crashed into it. The van was propelled into a motorcycle and only came to a stop after crashing into several trees.

The injured passengers were taken to the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center in Marikina for treatment.

Meanwhile, though it was still unclear to investigators who was ultimately responsible for the crash, Marikina Traffic Office chief PSupt. Vicente Calanoga said it was likely the liable party would be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injuries and multiple homicide. — DVM, GMA News
