Authorities arrested a man who threatened people with a knife in the Manila South Cemetery in Makati City, a report on GMA's “24 Oras” said Wednesday.

The suspect was identified as 46-year-old Henry Jimena. According to the report, Jimena was drunk and was caught with a plastic bag containing alcoholic drinks.

The victim, 53-year-old barangay tanod Elmer Magante, said he was cleaning a tomb when the suspect started making fun of him.

Magante said he ignored the suspect until Jimena whipped out a knife, which prompted Magante to call for help.

The suspect was immediately apprehended by the district police.

According to the cemetery's management, Jimena had hurt a woman there in the past.

For this latest event, Jimena was brought to the police station, but was later released. According to the police, Jimena and the victim had come to an agreement and no charges were filed. — Andrei Medina/BM, GMA News
