Client files case against dealer who allegedly sold her faulty cars
A woman filed an estafa case against a car dealer who allegedly twice sold her a defective vehicle, GMA 7 news program “24 Oras” reported on Friday.
The victim said that she first bought a second-hand Toyota Camry from the dealer last April, 2015 for P155,000.
But since the car turned out to be a lemon, she and the dealer came to an agreement that the Camry would be exchanged for a Honda Accord, and she would pay and additional P40,000.
“Marami [din] kami pinaayos [sa Accord]. Pinalitan namin yung apat na goma. Tapos 'yung sa aircon pa,” she said.
They then came to another agreement in which she would return the Honda and the total amount she paid, P220,000, would be refunded.
But the dealer has since failed to meet with the female buyer. “Ilang buwan na namin kayo pinagbigyan mga five months na tapos wala pa din ang daming [alibi],” she claimed.
According to Pasay City police investigators, the dealer had done something similar to at least five other clients. “Parang intended 'yung pagkasira eh. Mayroon dito noong isang araw na nagpakilala siyang retired policeman na nabiktima din. The same modus operandi din at diyan din sa auto center na yan,” Investigator SPO4 Allan Valdez said.
Police investigators, accompanied by the female victim, visited the auto center where dealer supposedly worked. But they discovered that the dealer had been fired over a month earlier. — Andrei Medina/DVM, GMA News
