Christmas Day fire razes 10 Tondo homes

A Christmas Day fire at the corner of Nepomuceno and Velasquez Streets in Manila's Tondo district razed 10 homes, displacing 20 families.

A report on GMA News TV's “State of the Nation with Jessica Soho” said the fire broke out past 1 p.m., while the community was celebrating Christmas in a street party. The fire reached the third alarm, and was put out at 3:40 p.m.

“Masakit na masakit ho,” lamented resident Arnel Almario. “Wala hong natira sa [aming gamit], kahit isa. Walang naisalba.”

Property damage from the fire was estimated at P200,000. — DVM, GMA News
