Wife of taxi driver from viral video begs for forgiveness for husband
The wife of the cab driver seen abusing a passenger in a viral video begged her husband's accuser to drop the cases filed against him.
In an exclusive report by Sherrie Ann Torres on "24 Oras" on Thursday, Roger Catipay's wife named "Jane" asked Joanna Garcia to revoke the charges for the sake of her children.
Walang gatas yan. 'Di lang siya makulong," Jane said.
Catipay's wife only learned of her husband's arrest through the television as she was in the hospital with their children when he was accosted.
While Garcia understood Jane's conundrum, she asked the family of Catipay to understand her stance.
"I perfectly understand the family of Mr. Catipay... but I also hope they understand where I am coming from," Garcia said in a text message.
But even if she drops the charges, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said it will push through with cases of unjust vexation, threat, and possible minor physical injury.
Ariel Inton said. —Rie Takumi/JST, GMA News
