Two men were arrested Wednesday after they were caught entering the house of former actor-singer Sonny Parsons of the Hagibis group in a suspected robbery attempt, a report on Unang Balita by Sandra Aguinaldo on Thursday said.

Neighbors of Parsons did a citizens' arrest on the two men at around 5 a.m. after they saw them enter the house in Marikina City.

The suspects were identified as Rey Vergara, 32, and Angelo Chua, 26.

Police said a cellphone from the house of Parsons was found on the suspects.

"Pinagdudahan sila at nakuha sa kanila ang cellphone amounting to P10,000," Sr. Supt. Vincent Calanoga, chief of Marikina Police, said.

Parsons said he and his neighbors were on the alert for a possible return of robbers. He said thieves robbed his house on Saturday and took jewelry and cash worth P364,000.

"Iniwan naming bukas ang gate tapos bumalik nga sila... Nakuha din dalawang relo ko," he said.

The suspects, however, denied the accusation.

Parsons was not at home when the robbery on Wednesday happened, but he arrived as soon as he learned of the arrest.

In 2002, Parsons' house was robbed by two men who tied up his family. The robbers were shot dead by the actor-singer. —KG, GMA News
